Chipping
A Chip Shot is a low running golf shot where the golf ball spends very little time in the air and a majority of its journey on the ground rolling like a putt. Approximately 10% of its distance should be in the air, versus 90% of its distance rolling. This is a low risk golf shot that should be used as much as possible when putting is not a viable option. Remember, your decision check down list should be...
- Putt - Low Risk
- Chip - Low Risk
- Pitch - Regular Risk
- Lob - High Risk
- Flop - Very High Risk
The keys to making a successful chip shot include:
- Proper Setup
- Club Selection
- Green Reading
- An Accelerating Stroke
